A week's vacation on the luxurious catamaran DIADEM can be a relaxing week of solitude, a fun-filled week of exploration and entertainment or a combination of the two. We look forward to building an itinerary that suits you, but we'd like to give you a brief taste of what Diadem in the British Virgin Islands can offer you... If you're a water sports aficionado Capt. Chad will take you water skiing, wakeboarding or tubing behind our 14' dinghy. If you desire take the two sea kayaks and explore the exotic coves that we're anchored at for the day. Enjoy a snorkel by yourselves or with your crew, Chad and Wendy, who will point out the breathtaking views of the coral reef and various tropical fish. Have you had a desire to learn how to windsurf? We can help make that wish come true. We have all the toys for you to enjoy. Or just relax and sunbath on the trampoline with a Diadem signature Caribbean cocktail. It's your week to enjoy the islands how you choose. Let's head over to Norman Island (also known as Treasure Island), where activities abound. If you enjoy hiking, you can walk the entire island where you will encounter stunning views of the azure waters and the beauty of the verdant green surrounding islands. You can go ashore and hang out at the beach bar called Pirates and peruse their shop that has interesting historical relics or enjoy the raucous atmosphere of the infamous Willy T's. Enjoy the fabulous snorkeling at the site called The Caves or our favorite snorkeling spot, The Indians, a series of tall, jagged rocks that has a wide variety of corals, sea fans and colorful tropical fish. From Norman Island we sail to Salt Island for a lovely lunch of Caribbean kabobs and a snorkel on the Wreck of the Rhone. The HMS Rhone went down in 1867 during a hurricane and it's one of the few intact wrecks that can be snorkeled. From Salt Island we'll sail to Peter Island for the afternoon and evening at Great Harbor, a fabulous place to explore. Great Harbor has a beautiful black coral forest that you may like to snorkel or just relax and enjoy the beauty of the anchorage. For a romantic evening cocktail or an upscale dinner you desire to walk over to the Peter Island Resort. From Peter Island we either sail over to Cooper Island for their souvenir shop and beach bar or sail to Trellis Bay to hear the band at The Last Resort or peruse the art colony called Aragorn studios. Marina Cay is nearby and Captain Chad can take you over to the Pusser's store and bar for shopping and a cocktail. The next stop is the grand and glorious island of Virgin Gorda. Enjoy hiking through the boulders and tide pools of the famous area called The Baths. The water is crystal clear and snorkeling around the boulders is also advised. If you are looking for some time on land to experience island life and history, we will set you up with Kumba and his island tour. While you see the island, Chad and Wendy will sail the boat up to the North Sound for your afternoon and evening destination. The North Sound is the largest anchorage you will encounter. We can moor in several different locations in the Sound, it all depends on what you would like to do while there. Want to explore the Bitter End Yacht Club or beach volleyball at the Sandbox? What about the bar/restaurant and gift shop filled with treasures from the Atouche on tiny Saba Rock? On Friday nights at Leverick Bay, the Mocko Jumbies (colorful stilt dancers) perform and there is a live local band and beach barbecue. Entertainment and activities abound in the North Sound. Leaving the North Sound we'll sail over to the islands called The Dogs. Jacque Cousteau made this area famous with his summer kid's camp. It's a cluster of barren islands that are renowned for their snorkeling and diving. We'll sail over to Mountain Point for a quiet anchorage for the night or to Cam Bay for a completely secluded site. The next day we're off to Monkey Point to snorkel a beautiful site filled with abundant numbers of silver sides and huge tarpon. We'll have a nice leisure lunch before sailing over to Cane Garden Bay for a busy beach area with a number shops and restaurants or to Brewer's Bay for a quiet anchorage that is great for water sports and snorkeling with a huge reef on both sides of the anchorage. The following day we have a relaxing sail around the southwest end of Tortola over to Jost Van Dyke. White Bay has crystal clear water that is great for swimming and sugar white sand for beach sports. Many of our guests swim over to the Soggy Dollar Bar home of the Painkiller. People watch on the beach and try your luck at the ring swing. Then we'll sail over to Great Harbor so you can go ashore and dance the night away at the famous Foxy's bar & restaurant. To end your trip, we sail back to Tortola. Relaxed, tanned, and ready to go back home... or not. You won't want to leave Diadem, Captain Chad and Chef Wendy or the Caribbean when your trip is over. So you'll just have to go ahead and plan your trip for the next year before you leave. See the same islands again or different ones. The Caribbean is a large area and you've just touched a little of it. Captain Chad and Wendy have sailed the entire chain and can set up an itinerary for you anywhere in the Windward and Leeward Islands. |
